Makeup: Her lips say it all

Ok guys.  Sorry for the late post.  I was having issues with my iPad (I know fml) but I am back with a brand new post.  Today I will be talking about bright color lipstick, specifically which colors look good, which ones don't, what skin complexion goes best with what color, and so on.  So I will admit I have been a little scared to branch out into wearing bright colored lipstick because I don't want to look like boo zoo the clown.  So I did some research on beautyriot.com and looked up what color lipstick goes best with what complexion, then tailored it to our topic of bright color lipstick.  So first, if you have a pale complexion, it's best to stick with the red, pink, or peach color lipsticks.  You want to avoid the dark tones such as dark chocolate and burgandy because it is to contrasting to the skin tone.  Now this is interesting to me, but if you have a dark skin complextion, any color will look good, especially an orange or a coral color.  But avoid the milky, chalky, white, or silver colors because again, it is too contrasting to the skin.  If you have an olive skin tone, basically if you are Greek, Italian, or Hispanic again anything will look good.  The color to stay away from is purple because it brings out the yellow undertones in your skin.  Also stay away from brown too.  If you are Asian, like I am (even though it's just a teeny tiny bit lol) you want to stick with the lipstick with a natural coral tint.  If you are Middle Eastern you want to stick with the nude tints.  So for the other skin tones and nationalities that I didn't cover.  Compare yourself to what I listed and go from there, or do your own research at www.beautyriot.com.  They have great beauty tips and beauty guides so check out their website.  So to further this into our topic of bright colored lipstick I personaly like hot pinks, red, the corals, blacks, and even the blues.  So let me know what you think, and what you personally like or dislike.  If you have a picture feel free to link it and show us a pic of someone who's rocking their lips out.  And of course if there are any fashion topics you would like me to bring up, feel free to hit me up at :

Hair: Weave Bun Killer...Literally

weave bun

Ok so my friend Whitney asked me to do this post last night. The topic is the hair weave bun, is it making its way back into the fashion industry or should we just lay it to rest? Me personally I don't like it. I remember wearing those in the 3rd grade and even though it was quick and easy you could tell it was fake. In my opinion if your hair, braids, dreads, or weave isn't long enough just leave the bun alone. I cut my hair off and I'm now rocking a bob and I wouldn't dare put a fake bun on my head. It's just not grown woman status. But again there might be someone out there who just knows how to rock it the right way. If that's you let me know how you rock it, take me step by step and just let me know why you choose this particular style or if you know someone who rocks it the right way take a pic and post :)

Fashion & Style: Wedge Snearkers?? Ehhh.....

women's wedge sneakers

So I told you guys earlier that I had to go to work today, DSW to be exact. Now I love DSW and the shoes there, not just because I work there, they have some really cute shoes. But this one particular shoe just rubs me the wrong way. It's the wedge sneaker. I'm sorry but they are butt ugly. I should never see a grown lady in these shoes. Maybe I just haven't seen the right way to wear these so for ANYONE who wears these shoes put me up on game, show me the light and explain to me how to wear these shoes.

Fashion & Style: How to Tackle the Scarf Bow

So I'm getting ready for work at DSW and I attempt to do something to this beast I call my hair. I grabbed one of my scarfs and I tried to make a bow. Lets just say it looked a hot mess. So my question is what's the proper way to make a scarf bow? What hair styles do/don't work with the bow? What tips would you suggest? Check out this video tutorial I got off Youtube and also these pics. Feel free to post pics of your own scarf bow creations.

P.S. anyone in the St. Louis area near Brentwood come to DSW. We have some good clearance sales going on :)

Fashion & Style: Oxford Comeback

oxford shoes

For my first post I wanted to address a popular trend that seems to be making the comeback, the Oxford shoe.  Most people I know reference this to the bowling shoe but it is much more than that.  The new and improved Oxford is redesigned to be more fitting to our new generation of fashion but while still holding that classic feel to it. So to some of the fashion impaired who believe these shoes are ugly and out of style, they're not. You're just too retarded to catch on. Check out the pics below including my own personal pair (1st pic), comment and tell me what you think. Do you personally like oxfords? If you don't why not? If you do what are some different styles you wear with your oxfords?
