Trend Alert: Transparent Jelly Boots

So I dont know if you guys have noticed, but there is a trendy sensation going on. I'm referring to Transparent Jelly Boots. Now jelly boots are kind of a throwback within itself, and have came back recently in bold, bright colors and designs. But now there are transparent boots. These are clear silicon like boots that have a touch of color on the bottom and also within the laces. I personally don't like the feel to them unless I was going to a Halloween party or like a throwback party. My style is more sophisticated, classy, sensual, that type of style, so these boots wouldn't look right on me. But for someone who has that fun, no restrictions type of style I would say go for it. Now where I'm from, St Louis to be exact I can't find any in stores, and I'm suspecting that this is the same for a lot of cities as well. I would suggest online shopping for these boots, specifically on eBay or Amazon, Aliexpress, Chicwish, Agape boutique, and other small boutiques online. They typically run between $50-$60 which is reasonably price, anything higher would be ridiculous. So if anyone has any of these please send me a product review, do you like em, how is the fit, and send a picture so we can see how they look on you!!!!!!

Health & Beauty: Eyebrow Threading

The latest trend in eyebrow grooming is making its debut in many salons and mall kiosks across the country. Eyebrow threading is the process of removing the hair from the follicle (root) by using a piece of thread to go back and forth between the areas that need fixing. This type of method is practiced in the Middle East and parts of Africa. For some, threading might be more painful then waxing. Why? Well, waxing only hurts for a brief second. Once the wax is applied and the strip is then ripped off it doesn't hurt anymore, aside from the stinging/burning sensation that is accompanied which is normal. Threading requires back and forth manipulation to get precise hair removal and the desired shape for your face frame. It is well worth it when you compare the results of waxing and threading. Waxing tears the top layer of skin off while threading doesn't and is a better approach to minimal skin irritation. Recently, I decided to learn the trade of eyebrow threading for many reasons. One of them happens to be that I've been very unsatisfied with how some "eyebrowists" like to shape them according to how they like it and not my preference. I've had a few incidents where my eyebrows came out too skinny or thin. I like to have full, thick eyebrows and that's when I decided it was time for me to teach myself this practice. After hours of tutorials and practicing on myself (not my eyebrows) I finally got the hang of it and was ready to try it on my own eyebrows. It is much harder doing this on yourself. But their is a motion you have to follow and the thread acts like a "scissor". Pressing the thread on your brow on the area you want cleaned you open and close the thread loop as if it were a pair of scissors. It is much harder to explain without actually showing one physically the steps taken. I'm so glad I decided to teach myself and I even have done a few peoples eyebrows. The picture above is my results after threading my brows for the first time. I'd say I did a good job! Also, I use a 100% cotton thread and would suggest you do not try to use any type of thick thread because not only will it hurt but it wont be as effective compared to a thinner thread.

Secret to Natural Beauty: Essential Oils

Natural beauty has been all the talk lately in the healthy & beauty world. It started with people praising bare skin and naked, make-up free faces. But how can one feel confident about their skin if it isn't in the best shape? Make-up is a girls "go-to" when her skin isn't cooperating. It just seems easier to cover and conceal the impurities and forget about whats really under their. Have you actually ever thought about what you could do so that you wouldn't have to run for your make-up bag? Essential oils like coconut, tea tree, jojoba, and lavender etc. have many profound uses. These oils can be used on your body and even hair. My skin loves when I use an essential oil, especially during the winter months when the weather is so harsh. My favorite oil is Argan and Jojoba. These are definitely two of my staples that I keep around my bathroom. I use Argan oil on my hair after my cowashes and at night to seal my ends. Jojoba is my face and body oil after cleansing. My skin sucks this right up! I can definitely tell the difference in my skin when I haven't used an essential oil for a few days. These oils bring your skin to life and help with the appearance. Now that the colder months are near this is just one of the many ways you can keep your skin in tip top shape. Most of these oils can be found at your local Whole Foods Market or online. Also, they last quite a while and a little goes a long way. I will post a description of each oil and their uses down below for those interested in using a particular oil to combat a specific problem.

Rose Oil- This is the perfect oil for sensitive skin! It helps with stretch marks, acne scars, aging skin, and even repairs the overall condition of your skin. Ladies, this also has properties that can ease symptoms of PMS! How about that?

Castor Oil- I love this oil! If you're like me and want to grow thicker and healthier hair then this oil is for you! Almost, if not all, naturals who began their hair journey used this oil to get started simply because it helped with a variety of hair conditions and types! This miracle oil will help hair grow back in areas you've experienced hair loss such as your nape or edges. It strengthens and deep conditions due to it being an emollient. Have bad cuticles and cracked nails? Want wrinkle free hands? Apply this every night to your hands and notice the difference in texture in just a week.

Jojoba Oil- Simply the best. The many uses of this oil is shocking! I use this for just about everything! It is a great eye and make up remover. This oil can be used all over your body and your hair. If you have dry skin or cracked heels then this is the oil for you. Jojoba oil can also be used to protect hair from the sun and chlorine when you're taking a dip in the pool. I use this after my cleansing step in my skin care routine. I apply at night as a moisturizer and when I wake up in the morning my skin is very soft and supple. This can also be used for a shaving prep and after to prevent razor burn and ingrown hairs. With so many uses you would be just fine having this as your only essential oil!

Here are a few others....

almond, eucalyptus, lavender, sandalwood, peppermint, and olive.

MO Fashion Week Recap

So last night was a great experience.  I had the privilege to attend the first annual Missouri Fashion Week, and last night's show was entitled "Art and Glam".  The whole experience was great from start to finish.  When I walked in, there was a live band, food, drinks, and different vendor booths set up all around the MOTO Museum at the Grand Center, which made it that much more wonderful.  The actual show was spectacular and all of the designers hit it hard on the nail!!!!  The show started out with a great dance piece, introductions, and then the designers showcased their designs.  And to think that these are all Missouri based designers makes it that much more incredible.  The labels that really stood out to me were Daniel Solivette, The Threaded Elephant, and Hauls by Sierra Moses.  The construction of the garments were so well put together, the way the garments fitted on the model was flawless.  The models themselves did a wonderful job as well.  The thing that really stood out was there wasn't a lot of extra-ness.  When I say "extra-ness"  I refer to focusing more on the little details and less on the actual purpose of the show, which is the fashions, and they certainly focused on the fashions and I loved it.  I am so happed to have attended this event and I cannot wait until MO Fashion Week is among us again next year!!!!!!

Deals & Steals: Groupon

So I know you guys have heard of Groupon, and if you haven't you are slacking in life!!!!!  Groupon is an app available where you are able to get goods, services, and even hotel and airfare at a huge discounted rate, at least 30% off but usually starting around 50% off.  I recently bought two pairs of Armani Exchange eye glasses that were originally $250.00 each for only $39.99 each!!!!!  Now if that's not a good deal I don't know what is!

I advise anyone who is able to download this app to do so and try it out.  My items came in a timely fashion, boxed up properly and with no damage.  I recommend Groupon with 2 thumbs up, and if you search hard enough you will be able to find some good fashion deals!!!!

You can also check them out online at www.groupon.com if you don't want to download the app.

    Five Fast Fixes: Beauty Tips!

    1) Baby Oil. It's Friday night and you're getting all dolled up ...oops, you forgot to shave. No worries, slather on a good amount of baby oil before you do a quick skim with the razor to remove the noticeable hair. The oil acts as a protectant and will leave your legs extra smooth. This works well with conditioner too! Just remember to save some for your hair.

    2) Shimmer Goddess. Stand out from the crowd with a bit of shimmery powder to enhance your cleavage and legs. In order for the powder to not rub off on your clothes or other people, be sure to apply a body lotion for it to adhere to (scented lotions will have your date head over heels).

    3) Dry Cracked Heels. A nice pair of heels always compliments an outfit, but flaky feet are not something you want to flaunt on the dance floor. Grab a pumice stone and exfoliate those ungodly creatures. The stone will slough off all the dead skin and reveal newer skin which is softer. If you want an even softer touch apply some shea butter and put on a pair of cozy cotton socks. The socks will help the moisture soak in leaving you with beautiful feet.

    4) Lash Luster. For lashes that are defined and darker apply Vaseline before your usual mascara routine. If you want lashes that appear fuller or thicker, use a eyelash curler before the Vaseline.

    5) Plump Lips. We all weren't blessed with a set of lips like Angelina Jolie but we can definitely get them...naturally! You'll need some cinnamon oil and a clear lip gloss. Add 10 drops of cinnamon oil to a clear lip gloss or any gloss of your choice. Mix the two together and apply. Warning: Do not apply the cinnamon to your lips directly as it will sting. The gloss is used to dilute the cinnamon.

SIBA Visual Merchandising Class Window Displays Pt 2

Hey guys back with some more pics from my visual merchandising class' window displays we just finished up, so let me know what you guys think!!!!

    Caviar Nails DIY Pt 1

Hey guys wanted to share this caviar nail diy post with you that I was inspired to do after watching a couple on Youtube.  I will also be doing a video later:

    What You'll Need:

    1.  Microbeads
    2.  Nail Polish
    3.  Container or Dish

I used the Martha Stewart Micro Beads and you can find them at any craft store in the Scrapbooking section.

I will be using the Gold and Copper microbeads with black nail polish.

Take the nail polish of your choice and paint one coat and let dry on all nails.  Then start with one finger and paint the second coat.

Take the microbeads and sprinkle on your nail over the bowl/dish.  Pat lightly when applied desired amount

Do one nail at a time until all nails are done.

And voila!  All done.  Make sure to allow enough time for your nails to dry.  Also dry putting a light coat of clear polish on top to help the beads stick.
