As you all know I don't have a life (seriously I don't) so most of the time I am on Instagram being bored, while I was on there I came across a pic that Monica (award winning R&B singer) posted of how she maintains her straight hair while being chemical free!!! She almost makes me want to go back natural and try this, so if any of my lovely readers are wondering how to maintain your hair with it being short without having to resort to that relaxer, Monica might have the solution for you, enjoy!

Decades: A Century of Fashion
Apr 26, 2014

Recently I had the privilege to attend "A Queen Within", the Alexander McQueen exhibit that we had here in St Louis. At the end of the tour, which I should say was absolutely amazing, I decided to take advantage of the sale they had going which was 50% off all fashion books. One of the books I purchased was "Decades: A Century of Fashion" by Cameron Silver. This book gives a wonderful recap from the 1900's all the way up into the beginning of the 21st century, describing each decade in great detail. I wish I could put all of the fascinating information I found on here, but to save a little time and urge you all to purchase the book for yourselves I will just put the "Designers of the Decade" and showcase a garment from that time period, so we can all see how fashion has changed throughout the century:
1900's
Designer of the Decade: Paul Poiret
1910's
Designer of the Decade: "Lucille"
1920's
Designer of the Decade: Coco Chanel
1930's
Designer of the Decade: Mainbocher
1940's
Designer of the Decade: Valentina
1950's
Designer of the Decade: Balenciaga
1960's
Designer of the Decade: Rudi Gernreich
1970's
Designer of the Decade: Yves Saint Laurent
1980's
Designer of the Decade: Stephen Sprouse
1990's
Designer of the Decade: Narciso Rodriguez

Spring Back Those Curls!
Apr 24, 2014

Are you having trouble with your curls? No definition or bounce? Do you want to bring back the life in your curls? If so, here are some quick and easy tips to follow:
- NO HEAT! -I know I say this a lot but if you already have heat damage those curls are no longer able to revert.
-LOC Method -liquid, oil, and creme....I will have a full post on exactly what this is and how to accomplish this!
-ACV Rinse-This is an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse which will work to restore the hairs shine by revitalizing it and help with the detangling process. ACV can be used for many things such as skin care, weight loss, and a natural body detox.
-Deep Conditioning- A big difference can be seen when you deep condition regularly. Your hair will thank you! In just a matter of days you will notice the moisture, softness, thickness, and manageability deep conditioning provides.
-Protective Styling- You must protect your hair with braids, sew-ins, buns, etc. so you can retain length. Your ends are the oldest part of your hair which means they need some TLC when handling!
Following a strict regimen and getting in the habit of knowing what your hair needs will promote healthy long hair. Your curls will be more defined and you will have the versatility of wearing curly or straight hair when needed!

Update
Hello Everyone!
So I know it has been a while since I have made a post (over a month to be exact). I've been busy with school and work but who isn't? I had a few things I wanted to explore and write about but somehow lost the post-it note I had written it on. That doesn't surprise me. I am currently on a detox challenge to clear my skin and its working wonders! I will have a make-up free week challenge coming soon. I was inspired by a campaign ad I recently saw that showed two women unveiling there natural bare skin. It was shocking. This was a beauty ad that was actually allowing their users to show exactly how their skin was without the make-up. One girl had very severe cystic acne accompanied with deep scars. She took a wash cloth and wiped away the make-up as if she was wiping away what people thought of her and accepting her true beauty. This was amazing! If only other women as well as men saw this the impact it could and WOULD have! It takes major confidence to be able to stand up to expectations of what "beautiful" is. Which brings me to the no-make up for a week challenge. I will post the challenge when it is time. I hope you all will realize the importance of accepting your flaws. Your flaws are what make you the perfectly imperfect person you are today!
Until next time......
XOXO

How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes Properly And Like A Pro!
Following an earlier post on the makeup products I just purchased, the bulk of it being new brushes, I decided to find a video on how to clean your brushes. I know for me I would just rinse with water or just leave old makeup on and my old brushes have been damaged because that, becoming brittle and stiff, so this time I want to do it properly, hope this product helps you guys too!
